WELCOME TO THE KIWANIS CLUB OF SPRINGFIELD, MA
Founded in 1916 the Kiwanis Club of Springfield
is an organization of service-minded men and women who respond to the unique needs of greater Springfield and are dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
Through Kiwanis membership, communities are improved, friendships are built, leadership skills are developed, and business contacts are made. More importantly, the lives of children in the area and around the world are changed for the better.

WHAT WE DO
We sponsor 5 Key Clubs
with over 400 high school student members. Key Club International is the high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. Key Club assists Kiwanis in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels. More info
We also sponsor 1 Builder Club
with over 75 student members. Builders Club develops leaders through service. We’re all about middle school. If you want to make a difference in your life and community, check out Builders Club. Last year, more than 45,000 middle and junior high school students around the world were involved in this Kiwanis-family program, developing leadership skills while working with friends to help others in need. Their projects ranged from fundraising for HIV/AIDS prevention in Africa to recycling drives to cleaning up parks. As students maneuver this “in-between-stage” of life, Builders Club empowers them to be themselves, work together with friends, and implement plans through action. As an extension of Kiwanis International, Builders Club shares the mission of the building leaders to help children around the world. Through Builders Club, students become leaders at school, in their community, and in the world. More info.
We sponsor a K-Kids
as well. K-Kids is the largest service organization for elementary school students, with more than 42,000 members worldwide. The first K-Kids was chartered in 2000. Today, there are more than 1,200 clubs. K-Kids is structured only on the local club level but is supported by the Kiwanis International Office in Indianapolis, Indiana, which provides programs, literature and opportunities to relate to teenagers from countries worldwide. More info.
Washington Elementary School
students benefit from the Springfield Kiwanis Club’s Community Partnership with the school. With the help of business and other non-profit organizations, Kiwanis has provided them with a large volume of school supplies, hats, coats, & mittens. Kiwanians donated a refurbished bike rack as well as helmets for their 5th graders each year. Individual Kiwanis members have given countless hours of reading aloud and mentoring.
